Simple Things to Notice

Before scheduling, it helps to know:

• Is there no hot water at every fixture?
• Is the water lukewarm or completely cold?
• Did the hot water run out faster than usual?
• Is the water heater gas or electric?
• Is there water around the unit?
• Has the breaker tripped?
• Is the pilot light out, if it is a gas water heater with a pilot?
• Has there been recent plumbing or electrical work?
• Has the water heater made any unusual noises?

If There Is Water Around the Heater

If you see water around the water heater, treat it as more than a comfort issue. A leak can cause damage and may need attention quickly.

Send photos of the full unit, the leak area, and the label on the tank.
